The Culture of the Kingdom of Heaven

Edward Hick’s painting of the Peaceable Kingdom depicts the message of Isaiah that the law of Christ the King would go forth out of Zion (the Church) and the nations will learn peace (Isaiah 2:2-4).  Isaiah declared in Messiah’s Day the wolf will dwell with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the lion with the ox, and the young child will play by the hole of the cobra. This will be because the earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord. (Isaiah 11:6-9)

"Kingdom Culture" is a powerful message preached at The King’s Church in Jacksonville, Florida, Sunday, November 30, 2008. Bishop Kouri ministers from Acts 2:41-47.

The early Church faithfully demonstrated the life and culture of the Kingdom of heaven! As the fruit of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and power upon their lives, and their devoted obedience to the apostles’ teaching of Christ’s Kingdom commands, the culture of the Kingdom of God developed among them. They eventually demonstrated such love for one another, such powerful fellowship, and communion that they even sold their material possessions and shared the proceeds with any who had need. As a direct result of their faithful obedience to the commands of their Lord and King, whatever they asked, desired, or commanded in His Name He did, and consequently great miracles took place among them. Their fellow Israelites were so moved by the obvious demonstration of Kingdom culture and the power of God evident in their midst that multitudes were being added to their community every day!

The Lord is in the process of restoring this same life and culture to the Church in the 21st century. What is it going to take for the modern Church to demonstrate the culture of the Kingdom of Heaven
